Simply breathtaking - The Baltic Sea Fjord Schlei

Discover the beauty of the Schlei region. Below, we suggest a possible tour for you - the exact order and composition remain entirely up to you.

1. Day - Arrival

On your arrival day at the Hotel an der Schlei, relax and enjoy our cozy atmosphere.

2. Day - Visit to the "Country Doctor" and onward towards Flensburg

On the second day, travel from Schleswig to Kappeln or "Deekelsen". Here, you can visit the cult film location of the "Country Doctor" and the historic herring fences from the 16th century. Then, continue to the Geltinger Birk nature reserve or to Flensburg.

3. Day - The secret cultural capital of the North

As the third stage, consider exploring the city of Schleswig. The secret cultural capital of Schleswig-Holstein can impress with some cultural highlights: the historic fishing settlement of Holm, the charming old town with the town hall and the Brüggemann Altar in the cathedral, Gottorf Castle with its exhibitions, the Globe House, the newly designed Fürstengarten, the ethnological collections of the State Museum, and the Viking Museum Haithabu.

4. Day - Sylt

The fourth day begins with a 1.5-hour train ride from Schleswig via Husum to Westerland on Sylt. Now it's up to you whether you want to explore the island comfortably with an island tour or prefer to explore it on your own with a rental bike - perhaps you just want to relax on the North Sea beach.

5. Day - Hallig Excursion

On the fifth day, experience a trip to the Halligen. From Strucklahnungshörn on the Nordstrand peninsula, you pass the seal banks. Afterwards, the "Grey Town by the Sea" Husum invites you to explore.

6. Day - Against the Wind and the Little Amsterdam of the North

On the penultimate day, our small round trip takes you to the Eiderstedt peninsula to St. Peter-Ording. This place is known for its huge beaches, where the beach sailors feel at home. The series "Against the Wind" was also filmed here. Then it's past the Eidersperrwerk to the recognized spa and seaside resort of Tönning. Where the Gottorf dukes once resided, today venerable buildings such as St. Laurentius Church, the canal warehouse, the market fountain, the castle garden, and the Old Hospital can be admired. After that, don't miss a canal cruise in the Little Amsterdam of the North, in Friedrichstadt.

7. Day - Departure

Before your departure, enjoy the extensive breakfast offer once again in peace, then bid farewell to Fahrdorf and our Hotel an der Schlei.
