Always worth a visit - The Pearl by the Schlei

Just a few minutes from our hotel lies the hidden cultural capital of Schleswig-Holstein: Schleswig. In addition to numerous attractions, cozy cafes, squares, and alleys invite you to stroll or linger.

The central starting point for any exploration in Schleswig is the Cathedral - one of the most significant buildings in North German church history. Here, you should take the time to climb the west tower - the beautiful view compensates you for the effort of climbing stairs.

On the edge of the old town, right on the Schlei, you will find the Schleswig Holm. The historic district was once inhabited by Schlei fishermen who could set off directly from their homes to the fishing grounds.

You can learn more about the exciting history of Schleswig at the City Museum. It gets particularly cozy there in the "Teddy Bear House". A building from the 18th century was lovingly restored in 2002 specifically for an extensive collection of historical stuffed animals. Here, you can now admire over 600 plush bears from various manufacturers and eras.

Also worth a visit is Gottorf Castle. Under the historical roofs of the former ducal residence lies the State Museum for Art and Cultural History as well as the Archaeological State Museum.
